Insured by HCC Specialty Underwriters for the last two years. Contestant
wins a trip to the Super Bowl and the chance to win a $1,000,000
prize if they can kick a field goal. This past year, San Diego Chargers
kicker John Carney coached the contestant. Carney actually got to
determine the distance of the kick by attempting three kicks from
50, 55, and 60 yards. The contestant started from 40 yards and for
each kick Carney made, the contestant moved up 5 yards. Carney made
one kick and the Contestant kicked from 35 yards. The Contestant
missed wide left but had it gone through, HCCSU would have paid the
million dollar prize. Nevertheless, Hershey still reaped the tremendous
exposure and consumer excitement of offering a prize of this magnitude
without risking their bottom line.
