and increase their sales online by launching the "Dream Getaways" Online

Over a thirty-day period, users were directed to the "Dream

vacation destinations from 49 choices. Users had the opportunity

"Dream Getaways" was very successful in driving traffic
and developing detailed, permissioned participant profiles. According
to the traffic statistics, the promotion produced a Click Through
Rate double the industry standard at the time, and drove 1 out of
2 users to the main Big Day Umbrella web site, increasing sales
for that month. heir dreams.
Office Depot needed a promotion to help leverage their relationship
with the Olympics for the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, UT.
HCCSU helped them come up with a game that gave users the chance at
$1,000,000 and three chances $10,000 winners.
Using their web site to help drive sales and give their users the
opportunity to predict the Olympic results Office Depot created
the "$1,000,000 Olympic Challenge.
Prior to the start of the Games, users were directed to the Office
Depot web site to sign-up for the promotion, with the option to
opt in for future product information. Once signed-on, users had
the opportunity to pick the 25 gold medal winning countries in the
specified Olympic events. After the games had concluded, all users
matching the 25 gold medal results exactly earned themselves $1,000,000.
Also, all users who matched at least 1 gold medal result had the
chance to win one of three $10,000 prizes in Office Depot merchandise.
